Transmissions can be complex to diagnose and sometimes require a more in-depth investigation to identify the problem's root cause.
Our team of experts is very familiar with the complex electric control system and extensive moving parts in any transmission and our goal is to identify the right problem rather than just install a new transmission in order to solve the problem. These investigations can save a massive amount of time and money in the long run.
You will be given an hourly rate and an estimated number of hours required.
Our high-tech hot flush machine will flush the cooling system to clear debris and flow restrictions in the transmission. This will prevent blockages and overheating that will later damage the new transmission.
Neglect of regular maintenance of the transmission can cause major transmission issues. FDT Maintenance Service offers you complete peace of mind and will help you maintain the integrity of the original or replaced transmission that is only achieved with regular servicing.
When should you service your transmission:
- After a certain mileage point - See owner's manual or call us to confirm
- 1 year of installation of a new or rebuilt transmission
- Transmission Fluid dipstick shows low fluid
- Transmission fluid dipstick is dark red or brown
We offer a full range of transmission repairs as not all transmission repairs require a complete replacement or rebuild. The earlier and more accurately a problem is diagnosed, the greater the chance is to avoid these expensive repairs. Our services include:
- Transmission Repairs
- Changing Oil Seals
- Replacing Bearings
- Replacing or Rebuilding the Valve Body
- Replacing Electrical components
- Torque Converter Replacement
- Speed Sensor Jobs
- Range Sensors
- Solenoids
The damage to the transmission is often too extensive to be repaired and requires a complete remanufactured transmission.
All transmission replacements require a certified transmission expert and a high-quality transmission not to damage the vehicle further. As a Transmission Remanufacturing center, we rebuild hundreds of transmissions a month and are experts in remanufacturing and replacing transmissions.
With a large inventory of remanufactured transmissions that have already passed our stringent testing process, we can quickly and easily help you get your vehicle back in action.
The differential comprises many gears, bearings, and shafts, and a driveline expert should only undertake repairs to ensure the line-up and preset for the gears are completed correctly to ensure smooth operation prevents further damage.
The differential is a complex diagnostic that is completed by running the car for a period of time via road test or running on a lift. Once the diagnostic is complete, the unit is removed and inspected to identify what parts require replacement.
If you have a rolling (humming/ vibration/ grinding) noise that you will hear while driving in the car that varies with speed, you should call us now to book an apt.
Problems with the transfer case can often appear similar to the transmission and stop the vehicle from moving. Our team of expert technicians understands how to identify the difference between a transmission issue and a transfer unit and are fully equipped to repair and rebuild every aspect of your vehicle's 4WD system.
Like a transmission, the vehicle has a system (the transfer case) that controls the 4WD/ AWD system. The transfer case is mounted directly behind the transmission to redirect torque to other systems. When in 4WD, the transfer case redirects torque to the front and rear axles and allows all four wheels to drive the vehicle. This device will enable you to switch between 2WD and 4WD.
If you feel like the traction in your vehicle is not normally performing, it is likely that your 4WD is not operating correctly.
